The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) is promoting “EDU-Port Nippon” (Dissemination of Japanese-style Education Since 2016), a collaborative initiative between the public and private sectors. This project supports efforts that contribute to educational reform in various countries and the internationalization of Japanese education by leveraging the educational methods and content of Japan’s educational industry and institutions. Japan’s education system provides children across the nation with a consistent standard of education and maintains a high enrollment rate. In the OECD Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA), Japanese students consistently rank among the top in the world in reading, mathematics, and science literacy.

Furthermore, in addition to academic improvement, Japanese education emphasizes the balanced and holistic development of “Chi-Toku-Tai” (Solid academic ability, Richness in mind, Healthy body), aiming for the rich humanity, social skills, and healthy physical and mental growth of every student. Through educational practices spanning the entirety of school life—including “Special Activities (Tokkatsu)” centered on class activities and school events, as well as duties like cleaning and school meal service—the system fosters the qualities and abilities that contribute to individual and societal well-being.

At this booth, we introduce the features and appeal of Japanese-style education through exhibits that recreate Japanese classrooms and school life.
